The Noble Herd

Some things can’t be talked through. They have to be felt.

We offer equine facilitated sessions, sometimes called equine therapy, on our farm in Hertfordshire, for young people, individuals, families and organisations open to a different kind of conversation.

Equine Facilitated Sessions

Set in Hertfordshire, within easy reach of London, The Noble Herd offers a calm, natural space where something in you is quietly invited to settle.  Where connection, to yourself and to others, becomes possible again.

Our sessions are guided groundwork alongside horses.  No riding and no horse experience needed. Through simple, practical exercises you begin to notice how what is happening inside you shapes the way you move, breathe and connect.

There’s no right or wrong here, and nothing to perform.

Just an honest, gentle space to explore how you show up and what becomes possible when something shifts.

What we do

Our work is often described as equine therapy, sometimes as horse therapy, though we take a non-ridden, equine facilitated approach. Sessions are trauma-informed, practical and responsive to the individual, with access to additional therapeutic support where appropriate.

We work somatically, meaning through the body rather than just through talking, which makes this a powerful option for people who find words hard, or who aren’t yet sure what needs to be said.

Sometimes the body knows before the mind does.  You are welcome exactly as you are.

Why horses

Horses are honest and present in a way that’s rare, and surprisingly hard to ignore. They communicate without words and respond without judgement.

They often notice what’s happening beneath the surface, not just what’s being performed or explained. In doing so, they can become a unique mirror for our inner world.

When a horse moves toward you, softens, or steps away, it can invite you to notice something real.

We help you stay curious about what happens in those moments, and explore how those insights can carry into everyday life.

Testimonials

I have found working with Belinda and the horses incredibly revealing.  The horses are very gentle and Belinda has held the space and supported each session beautifully.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with these sessions but knew my daughter wanted to work with the horses.  It has really helped her understand how to self regulate and notice when she is dysregulated.  Its been great to learn as a family how to support her as well.
